Even in an artistic and creative field like fragrance creation, there’s still a need for great teamwork. Sharing the latest emerging trends and having the ability to work collaboratively results in fragrances that are new and exciting, and ensures that evaluators, marketing teams and perfumers alike stay inquisitive and exploratory in their own work.

During a recent Marketing and Development Seminar (MADS), our UK development and marketing teams came together for a day to explore the latest innovations in scent creation, share ideas, discuss new and exciting uses for our technologies, learn from one another, and celebrate all things fragrance!

Perfumer Kamila Lelakova, said: “MADS is a great opportunity for perfumers to focus on fragrance creations using CPL technologies, while also discovering new and impressive product innovations, and sustainable development methods.”

Read on to hear about some of the exciting innovations and trends explored at this year’s UK MADS event.

Consciously crafted fragrances

Our Personal Care category team presented a series of concentrated fragrances, perfectly designed for a refillable concept – like the four times concentrated shower gel, which only requires one pump per shower for a head-to-toe clean.

Continuing their exploration of conscious fragrance creations, the Personal Care team also showcased a series of fragrances that are sustainable and 30-40% cheaper than average. With many consumers increasingly both environmentally and cost conscious, the team demonstrated how you can create enticing scents that are both sustainable and economical.

Tomorrow’s home

During the session, our Household category team presented four concepts on the dominant trends and developments they have witnessed in homecare scents.

Two of these concepts focused on the growing importance of environmental claims in this category – from exploring biodegradable scents for toilet care applications, to showcasing Eco-tab, a solid format to be deployed through a reusable bottle.

Eco-tab provided teams with a great example of just how effectively our EcoBoost technology can assist in the future of household cleaning, by delivering fantastic concentrated scents that reduce carbon footprint and meet the growing consumer demand for reusable and reduced packaging solutions.

The Household fragrance team also introduced a pro-planet collection: a series of fragrances that draw inspiration from nature, created to smell as authentic as possible by utilising our AromaSpace technology. The ingredients tell stories through their scent, transporting your mind to outdoor spaces while filling the home with a clean, fragrant aroma that is much desired by consumers.

Our team explored alternative options for the home in Scent Your Space, smelling portable home fragrance in liquidless formats. Spill-proof, liquidless solutions are ideal for the home and are increasingly popular with homeowners, and presents an exciting new opportunity for our marketing teams.

Further unravelling alternative formats, the Fine Fragrance team shared a range of eco-friendly refillable candles and solid format fine fragrances, featuring scents which utilise our AromaSpace technology.

The importance of working together

While the hands-on educational sessions gave attendees an opportunity to explore exciting and inspiring topics, the greatest benefit of these seminar sessions is the role they can play in strengthening  bonds within our teams, and sparking exciting conversations and ideas. The UK MADS day was rounded off with a bowling trip, to celebrate months of innovative thinking and hard work from our team.
