Olivier Maurel

Olivier Maurel, Senior Perfumer at CPL Aromas France, has lived a life steeped in scent. Growing up with a father who was a perfumer at Robertet, Olivier’s fascination with fragrance began early, inspired by watching him create and explore raw materials. This passion soon became his own path. Before completing his training, Olivier undertook a seasonal internship at Robertet, gaining hands-on experience with natural ingredients. He then moved to Milan, completing a three-year program at Création et Parfums before beginning his career as a junior perfumer. Over the next 13 years at GRC Parfum, he honed his skills across a wide range of creative applications, building a strong technical and artistic foundation.​​

In 2014, Olivier joined CPL Aromas as a Senior Perfumer at the Paris creative center. Known for his dedication to continuous learning, he believes that “in this job, you can never finish learning,” a philosophy that drives his approach each day. He enjoys working with a broad palette of materials, with a particular affinity for woody notes and rose oil, always striving to use the finest qualities to craft unique, expressive scents.​​

Outside the lab, Olivier finds inspiration through movement and nature, tennis, swimming, running, reading, music, and long walks in the forest. These moments of balance, he says, help fuel his creativity and bring clarity to his ideas.​

For Olivier, fragrance is deeply personal: “I think a fragrance allows you to distinguish yourself, to assert your personality and to take care of yourself.” Guided by passion, tradition, and curiosity, he continues to shape memorable olfactory stories within CPL Aromas.​
