Kévin Mathys is a Senior Perfumer at CPL Aromas, based in Dubai and known for his thoughtful, evocative fragrance creations. His journey into perfumery began in the French countryside north of Paris, where a childhood spent blending colognes sparked a lifelong fascination with scent.
After studying in Montpellier, Kévin began his career in the UK as a Junior Flavourist before receiving formal training at Bell F&F in Leipzig. Under the mentorship of Sebastian Reuter, he developed his craft over five years, later gaining experience at other fragrance houses before joining the CPL Aromas team in Dubai.
For Kévin, fragrance is an emotional prompt, a powerful way to connect with others. Inspired by nature, art, and daily life, he often begins each creation with a mental image or a name, letting memories, song lyrics, or personal experiences guide his work.
Kévin is particularly drawn to complex, textured ingredients like vetiver, leather, woods, and amber, elements he sees as both bold and versatile. He believes the future of perfumery lies in greater sustainability, transparency, and storytelling.
Outside of work, Kévin finds inspiration in sketching, swimming, hiking, and canyoning, activities that help nurture his creativity and aid him with evoking emotional narratives behind his scents.
