CPL signs the Ifra sustainability charter and publishes its 2019 sustainability and impact reports
This week is important for CPL Aromas as we signed the IFRA Sustainability Charter and published both our full 2019 Sustainability Report and the summarised 2019 Impact Report.
You will find details of our achievements during 2019 related to our 4 areas of focus: protecting our environment, caring for people, delivering responsible innovations and committing to ethical sourcing.
We have covered a lot of ground since we published our first Sustainability Report in 2019. For example, our renewable energy consumption grew by 12%, we made our biggest ever contribution to CAFOD, and we obtained Ecovadis Gold certification. But we are also aware that we need to do more. In the report we highlight areas of improvement and set out our key focuses for the year ahead.
As the company’s CEO, Chris Pickthall, said: “we don’t want our sustainability efforts to be just a ‘green tick’ on the proverbial corporate agenda, something to think of once a year and then discard. We are convinced, now more than ever, that CPL Aromas’ purpose is to change the world for good”.
In line with these words, CPL have just signed the IFRA Sustainability Charter, committing to a more sustainable future. Its focus areas are very much aligned with our own work and we will feed our progress on 17 Commitments indicated by the agreement.
